Hunters have shot and killed a brown bear in the northern Japanese town of Sapporo after the animal began running free through the city, attacking and hurting four people, including a soldier.
Authorities in Sapporo said Friday that the bear has disappeared, while a local television said the bear was shot by hunters, writes The Guardian.
Earlier in a video of the bear, it was seen running through a street with residences, then crossing a busy road and entering a military base, warning soldiers.

A soldier was wounded during the bear attack. Another person was bitten by the bear after the animal first attacked him from behind.
Running bears around the city caused authorities to close schools and cancel several flights to a small regional airport.
Asian black bears are native animals in large parts of Japan, including the main island of the State, while the brown bears are more present in the northern part of Hokkaido.
The Japanese Bears and Forests Association has warned that bears living in forests are being seen in greater numbers in areas inhabited by people because they are seeking food.
