ATK with important announcements for businesses about canceling penalties

Through a media communique from ATK report that “in order to implement decision No. 04/60 of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the date 27.01.2021, for facilitating the exercise of economic activity of all taxpayers, as a result of the difficult economic situation created by the COVID-19, the Kosovo Tax Administration reportedly remove penalties for all taxpayers who carry out the full payment of basic tax (prison) and interest<1>.

According to ATK, all physical and legal persons, who have unpaid tax obligations to ATK, for all periods and types of tax/contacts, can benefit from forgiveness of penalties, provided the same is paid full due of basic tax (priority) and interest by 30 June 2021.

So, taking out the penalties will be for all taxpayers, if:

• Taxpayers pay once for basic tax (key) and interest;

• Taxpayers deal with ATK for installments;

• Taxpayers are in agreement with ATK and pay basic tax (key) and interest.

The subx0> Only taxpayers who exploit this opportunity and fulfil the required obligation within the legal period by June 30th 2021 will benefit from the pardon of penalties”, the communique is said to be further.

Removal of penalties for taxpayers who pay basic tax (key) and interest, for all periods and types of taxes/compressions, will be automatically done by ATK, so the taxpayer is not obliged to apply for the removal of penalties.
