The Council of Albanian Ambassadors has welcomed the resumption of talks between Kosovo and Serbia for normalising their inter-state relations.
These facilitated talks by the European Union and supported by the United States of America must end with mutual recognition as the only way for the full normalisation of Kosovo-Serbia relations.
This, not only would be in the best interest of both countries, but it would be a major step towards strengthening peace, stability and the Euro-Atlantic perspective of our region”.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors strongly believes that the stability and prosperity of our region is inseparably linked to guaranteeing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each state, respecting the principles of democracy and human rights, as well as protecting and advancing the position of ethnic minorities”.
The agreement on the normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia must be achieved within these principles, sanctioned in the Ahtisaari package and the International Court of Justice decision”.
The Albanian Ambassador's Council considers it necessary to stress that the Euro-Atlantic perspective is the main driving force towards a stability and prosperity of Balkan stability.
“In this context, the Council of Albanian Ambassadors emphasises the importance of visa liberalisation on the part of the European Union as soon as all conditions have long been met”.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors encourages representatives of the Republic. Kosovo and all political forces in Kosovo to engage in self-confidence and professionalism in talks with the Republic of Serbia, supported by the EU and US”.
“The KAS also encourages EU mediator Lajcak, in this process to continue to be guided by the principles on which the dialogue is built by exercising self-control from useless emotional positions”, the community of this council says.
The future of the Republic of Kosovo is under the umbrella of the EU and NATO, and Euro-Atlantic values are deeply embedded in the foundation of the state of Kosovo.
