AKK) Director: Oil price increase resulted from large producers

The director general of the Kosovo Competition Authority, Sakip Imer, has said that in recent months, a slight increase in the price of food oil in the country has been observed while receiving this concern, The AKK has started with market research for this product.

“Prices have been influenced by the large producers of Ukraine, Russia, Argentina, and Romania that have a direct impact on the increase in the price of raw materials and products, but in addition, the orientation to palm oil due to the pandemic that with medical advice in the Chinese industry, there will increase the use of sunflower oil, and then this has contributed to the increase in price to us<1>, Imer is expressed.

In addition, he says that more than 8 million liters of oil have been imported in Kosovo since January 2021, where more than 90 percent is processed oil and only 10 percent is oil that is ambalized in Kosovo.
