Emergency Affairs Recognition and simultaneously Executive Director of the Security Policy Research Centre Tahir Ahmeti has said Kosovo institutions should work on improving underground infrastructure in urban countries in order to reduce flood opportunities.
Through a Facebook post, Ahmeti has said that today's floods in Pristina enter the fast flood category, which could cause damage to agricultural fields and family economies.
The heavy rain that fell in Pristina today flooded large parts of the city and surrounding villages. These flows enter the fast flood category, and can cause damage to agricultural fields or to household and business economies.
Ahmeti added it is obvious that every time there is more severe rainfall, floods are being caused.
“Institutions responsible for both local and central ones need to continue to work on fixing river beds, open channels and permutations, as well as improving underground infrastructure in urban countries in order to reduce flood access and possible damage to the smallest of”, he writes.
