Abazovic: Belgrade Clears Montenegro an Independent State

Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic has said that all, especially Belgrade, should have it clear that Montenegro is an independent state and decides on its own destiny. “Should be clear to all, especially to officials from Belgrade who have taken a lot with Montenegro [...]

The “should be clear to all, especially to officials from Belgrade who have taken a long time with Montenegro recently, that this is an independent state that decides on its own destiny and does not agree with humiliation” has said Abazovic.

Abazovic also said he was not afraid the DPS would return.

I'm not afraid of the old regime coming back. Despite some disagreements, harsh words or nervousness, I am sure that all members of the parliamentary majority will not play games for the historic collapse that took place last August”, Abazovic said.

I think that sometimes, without need, we overestimate the situation and tend to submit to general propaganda that takes place more abroad than in Montenegro. Just remember how many such situations were and ultimately overcome in a pretty good way. Too much dust, but a little concrete, so I'm cool. It must be clear to all that Montenegro's national interests are ahead of any party calculations. We must affirm the citizen concept and European policy and all our decisions should be in line with those goals. There is no discussion on this”, Abazovic said.

He recalled that Montenegro follows a good neighbourly policy.

I call on all actors to get rid of nationalism, hostility and the past, because it has brought us nothing good. Let us be devoted to solving problems and changing the future. I'm ready for dialogue with colleagues and this is very necessary at the moment”, Abazovic told Vijesti.
