MP The PDK, Xhavit Haliti, has commented on earlier statements by Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Donika Gervala, regarding former KLA leaders. Gervala had declared there was evidence against KLA leaders and that they would be handed over to the Special Court.
Haliti says that by the time Gervala made such statements, she was a German citizen and held government positions. But today, according to him, the situation already changes, as she is the minister.
“Now it is in politics, it is the minister of foreign affairs and must keep in mind that there will be continued confrontation with its mistakes. I don't think it can be called that was a mistake for people with names and surnames. If you have arguments, I am not against anyone, even those co-operatives at The Hague tribunal who tell the truth. But to charge without arguments...”, Haliti said at RTV21.
Member of The PDK) stresses that Gervala should apologize if he has publicly lied.
If you've stated that I know that the central figures of KLA are so and so and have arguments I think I should go there as well. If you don't have the facts and you've lied to the opinion then you should apologize to”, Haliti says.
Days ago Gervalla said he did not give testimony to The Hague, nor will I. That, according to Halit, is reason enough for her to apologize.
I want to believe her words that she's gone and she's brought her papers to supposedly post-war killings, so what's this about, did she tell the truth or now? Today as minister, I'm not talking about lynching or convicting, but it's up to him to gather the strength and give me an apology. More powerful would have turned out if he were to apologize than to press charges”, he added.
