This volcano had erupted in 2002 when it took the lives of at least 250 and left over 120 thousand homeless.
Population evacuation has begun.
Thousands of them have abandoned their homes even before the evacuation announcement was given.
Crowds have been photographed leaving with mattresses and other items towards the Ruada border, east of Congo, the BBC reports.
