Visa lack, Shala: The EU has fallen to test with Kosovars

Political analyst Blerim Shala has said the lack of a positive visa liberalisation decision for Kosovo on the part of the EU is an unprecedented case for Brussels.

He has said that Kosovo citizens have had to travel freely to Europe for the 20118 weekend holidays and that in this respect they have fallen from the exam.

For Shala, this is not the EU's only failure in relation to Kosovo.

“The EU has declined in this exam before Kosovo citizens, as another decline in the exam -- even greater -- of the EU, in this aspect of the European Union's political functioning -- took place in 2008, when five EU states -- from 27 member states -- did not join 22 EU states in recognising the state of Kosovo”.

“Everything would be different today in Kosovo's reports with the EU, as well as in Kosovo's relations with Serbia (dialog for normalising relations would have ended forever), if there was reconciliation for Kosovo among EU member states”.

Shala has said it is Kosovo citizens who are suffering the consequences of these EU mistakes and failures.

According to him, even in providing vaccines for citizens of the EU and the states of the Western Balkans.

However, Kosovo politics, which is today, certainly very flawed -- which are known to all citizens of Kosovo -- will have to find ways to return the issue of visa liberalisation to Kosovars in Brussels, with a clear goal at the end of this year (or, at a three-year delay), Kosovars to travel to Europe without visas”.
