There is a fear of even more violence Monday during marking the anniversary of Jerusalem's Flag Day.

This event marks the capture of East Jerusalem ʹ the House of the Old Town and the Holy Places in 1967, and is usually followed by the walk of young Zionists in Muslim areas.

Many Palestinians view this way of celebrating as deliberately provocative.

Recent violence felt a month of intense tension.

What happened to the last collisions?

The clashes began at the Al-Aqsa mosque complex, one of the holy Islamic sites. But this is the most sacred place in Judaism, known as the Mount Temple.

Hundreds of Palestinians had laid projects on security forces, which responded to this violence with stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets, according to the AFP news agency.

In a statement to the media, Israeli police said security forces were operating to eliminate violence at the Mountain Temple, along with increasing activity in other areas of the Old Town”.
