USKKUK calls for greater budgetary support from government

For more than three hours, the meeting lasted between members of the Parliamentary Commission for Health with the heads of the Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service. After this meeting, which was closed to media, they were said to have discussed budgetary support for KSFU and the pandemic situation in the country. Parliamentary Commission Chairman for [...]
Parliamentary Commission for Health Chairman Fatmire Kolcak said the situation with the epidemic and support of the health staff was discussed at the meeting.
She has said they have offered support in terms of funding, which she says will contribute to next year's budget revision.
Kolcak has said he will care for increased additions for the medical staff until the draft of the Law on Salaries.
What I can say is very encouraging we have a number in the last two weeks of hospitalized patients at QKUK, in regional hospitals, so we have a very drastic drop in half the joys we enjoy. This is the best indication that the epidemiology situation is better, but we're not going to stop with the precautionary measures, and in addition to the vaccine that's happening, it's going to continue until the target of population vaccine is achieved... we're going to be engaged in increased additions. The main engagement will be oriented towards a new wage law, where then properly and meritably the wage issue will be resolved for all health workers indiscriminately as well as support staff... The main requirements (from SHSKUK) are this budgetary support that I believe will not be missed especially for medicines, even though we realized that as far as 84% has covers”, Kolcak said.
Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service Director Valbon Krasniqi has called for greater budgetary support in terms of reforming, especially for legislation regulating the dental system.
Regarding the epidemiology situation, Krasniqi said the situation is currently more relaxed and currently at the SHSKUK are located at 320 patients.
“We express our demands on the management of work at the SHKUK level, including greater budget support and support in terms of reformation, especially legislation regulating the country's health system at the level. At the level of the country we have 426 hospital patients, out of them 179 are at QKUU and others are general hospitals. Of these hearings, 320 are in continuous oxygen therapy while 36 patients are in serious condition being treated in intensive care departments. We have a much calmer and relaxed situation as far as the number of patients is concerned, and this situation is allowing us to take back further reorganization steps for any number of eventually to appear in the future. Last week we released clinics from the inter- block, and patients at QKUK are now treating them at the Infectious Clinic, Pomology and a smaller number at the Sports Clinic, as well as intensive central treatment those in a more serious state. We as SHKUKUK should see in implementing the wage Law, and only the Law of Salaries would permanently resolve the issue of paying health workers while we demand that, on the basis of budgetary opportunities, be as high for health workers who are engaged”, Krasniqi said.
PDK Health Commission member Bekim Haxhiu said that at this meeting they have discussed the waiting list that has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Situate is heavy in terms of lack of vaccines. Kosovo continues to be the only country in Europe that has no contract for vaccine supply. What's happening with the vaccine supply is on the basis of donations. Our demand is also due to lack of drugs, which is a huge budgetary cost for many patients and families. Lacks of the essential list in the pandemic have exacerbated the situation even more, then there are shortages in some of the services due to pandemic, and some of the long-time reorganizations have had a decision to close up specialist ambulances, and this has increased the waiting list”, Haxhiu said.
