The group has been charged with various speed violations around Switzerland's largest city with <x0 powerful, partially hired”.
Prosecutors say several vehicles were registered as travelling up to 287km/h on highways and almost 200km/h outside constructed areas.
Police also said the suspects held various various illegal subsofts on public roads”, broadcast Telegrafi.
Switzerland's highways have a speed limit of 120km/h, while cars are also limited to speeds of 80km/h outside constructed areas and 50km/h within constructed areas, reports euronews.
Eleven men and a woman, all between 24 and 40, were arrested as part of the operation, including citizens from Switzerland, Italy, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The arrests followed a lengthy investigation by Cyril Cantonal Police and the Cyril Public Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors have also demanded that four of the suspects arrested be held in custody. Under Swiss law, suspects are allegedly innocent of awaiting court procedures and until a final sentence is reached.
