The year speaks of vaccines as )donations: In 50 days we've done more than Government Hoti for five months.

Former Health Minister from LDK ranks Armend Zemaj has criticised Kurti Government for the neglect shown to ensure the number of vaccines for citizens and the vaccine process.

He said the Kurti Government programme is particularly unclear in the health sector, as it does not provide concrete plans to manage pandemic and inoculation.

The programme mentions that Kosovo will receive 60 per cent inoculation of the population by the end of the year, but there are no concrete plans how many people will be vaccinated, how many doses of vaccines are provided, and when and how much will be vaccinated overall. If 500 people were vaccinated during this period, if this continues, 180 thousand people with two doses will be vaccinated in one year, for 60 percent of population vaccination it would have to be five years that would be the biggest disaster”, the Zemaj deputy said.

To Zemaj's statements, Health Minister from the ranks of Vetevendosje Movement Arben Vitita has reacted, said guilty of delay in securing vaccines is the past government.

Kosovo's “government has established the commission to negotiate vaccine purchases on December 7, 2020, at the time when the Republic of Albania and our northern neighbour have begun to receive these vaccines. Now each producer of vaccines naturally produces as much as there is demand, and since the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has established the negotiating commission on December 7th and the vaccine committee on December 25th of 2020, of course we have been delayed, but I am certain that these monthly delays by March 23rd have increased the dynamics and for 50th and the day of the government, Kurti 2 has become more than for 5 months and more pre-government. On the other hand, the necessary and urgent step currently is to ensure the vaccine and the vaccine process will cover 60% of citizens, as we said by the end of 2021, testing and tracking, promotion and management of pandemics, respect for preventative measures, strengthening monitoring capacities” has said.

Kosovo Assembly MPs have gathered today to discuss the four-year governing programme presented by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
