On Monday, he told President Joe Biden that more NATO troops are needed on the east side of Europe after a construction of a military base from Russia on its border with Ukraine.
“NATO must continue to strengthen its position of prevention and defence, especially on the east side, in a unified and consistent manner, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea”, he said.
His comments came at a Bucharest conference, who were present who were all part of either the Soviet Union or Moscow controlled during the Cold War.
Now, these countries are members of the European Union and NATO.
Speaking of the recent deployment of Russian troops near Ukraine included in the Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, Polish President Andreze Duda said was relieved that Russia had withdrawn many of the forces.
