Blinken, who landed at Ben Gurion International Airport early Tuesday, is the top US official to visit the region since President Joe Biden took office.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi and other officials welcomed him.
Blinken will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah, who is fighting for his political life after the fourth never-ending elections in two years.
Netanyahu faces mounting criticism from Israelis who say he completed the offensive prematurely, without vigorously preventing attacks by Palestinian missiles or dealing a more serious blow to Hamas militants in Gaza, the AP reports.
