The responsibility of the dialogue falls on the government, Haliti: Opposition Turnout Needed

Former Kosovo Assembly Vice-President, MP at the same time of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Xhavit Haliti, in an interview for Online Economy said it is not necessary for the opposition to be part of delegations in dialogue with Serbia. According to him, the primary responsibility should be addressed to those whom the Constitution has granted the right to represent - the government of the country.
“does not mean the opposition to be part of the delegations, it means the opposition being informed, part of internal debate to be part of the debate even with closed doors why not when it needs to, but responsibility must be addressed to those who have been given the Kosovo Constitution right to represent”.
He also stressed that the process of dialogue is multi-progressive, but he is very sceptical of reaching an agreement without EU and US intervention.
The “Dialogue is now multi-comparable, it is dialogue with the EU and dialogue with Serbia. I am very skeptical that any quick agreement can be reached with Serbia, without seeing a major push by the EU and the US, to reach the point where dialogue should end. They've been texting us constantly, we've been trying to solve the problem, maybe the problem for me has been solved, not too much debate, but we still have to work, and the Government should be committed to making state politics in relation to dialogue”, he stressed.
The latest reporting on the Foreign Affairs Commission by Deputy Minister Besnik Bislim sparked reactions and debates.
Haliti emphasises that the report was irregularly and that, according to him, the Government should have it clear that Kosovo is the parliamentary republic.
The report was badly invited to me because it was personally called by the chairman of the commission, without receiving the commission members' approval, in the inability to prepare for and without relevant materials that had to be followed, what to report. However, the good news is that there are deputy prime minister, we have debated, has given his opinion even at the open and closed session, there is no issue left for which he has not answered”.
So I think it's a duty of each government dictatorship to report to the Assembly and it's something that keeps me from not only this government, but in general that the Government of Kosovo still doesn't understand that we are the parliamentary republic and that we are not the government republic and I can't find out where the government control is here”, Haliti concluded.
