The Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the statistical Reperator on Economic Enterprises in Kosovo for the first quarter of this year, which reportedly has a total of 2 941 companies.
According to the AKS, compared to the preliminary quarter (TM4 2020), there is an increase of 2.54% of registered companies. As compared to the same quarter of the preliminary year (TM1 2020), there is an increase of 27.26% of registered companies.
With regard to economic activities, the favourites in this quarter were: Large and retail markets, motor vehicle repair, motorcycles with 804 registered companies (27.33%); Production by 344 registered companies (11.69%); Construction with 340 registered companies (11.56%); The accommodation and food services activities of 293 companies registered (9.96%); Professional, scientific and technical activities with 293 companies registered (9.96%); Information and communication with 173 (5.88%), etc. During this quarter, in the category of 1 to 4 employed are 2 831 registered companies (96.3 %); with 5 to 9 employed are 65 Sosh (2.2%); with 10 to 19 employed are 31 registered companies (1.1%); with 20 to 249 employed companies registered (0.4%); while in the category of 250 and more employed is only 1 registered company. As for the geographical alignment of registered companies at the level of municipalities, as in every quarter, the Pristina municipality dominates with 860 registered companies (29.24%); Ferizaj with 258 registered companies (8.77%); Prizren with 236 registered companies (8.02%); Gjilan with 156 registered companies (5.3%); Peja with 148 registered companies (5%); and Fushe Kosova with 125 registered companies (4.2%); while other municipalities have smaller numbers of companies registered in this quarter”, the report said.
