After raping a minor girl, protest Saturday in Mitrovica

The protest is called after reporting that two men have raped a minor girl in Mitrovica.

We announce to you that Mitrovica's activists” I am your Gen” on Saturday (May 22, 2021), starting at 12:00 we will hold protests in “Square. Isa Bolatini” in Mitrovica.

Today it was reported that two men have raped a minor girl in Mitrovica.

This case is only showing the epidemic nature of rapes and abuses against girls and women, which we will object to. This is providing alarm on the constant risk and anxiety in which girls and women in Kosovo grow up and live. Men are continuing to rape and molest girls everywhere, telling us very well that there is no safe place for girls and women.

In all of this, private and public institutions, deeply patriarchal, are accomplices. The practice of amnesty of molesters and rapists should be stopped, and the names of rapists and molesters should be said by police. We have the right to know who the rapists are.

The cases of rape and sexual harassment of girls and women in every area are dangerous to our society and public safety. So on Saturday, starting at 12: 00 p.m. we gather in “Square. Isa Boletini” in Mitrovica to challenge and send revolt messages to our oppression and abuse of our bodies.

Protesters must respect IKSC and Health Ministry guidelines for curbing the spread of COVID 19 by wearing masks and maintaining physical distance.
