Fjolla Mucaj, the organiser, said that the latest case occurred at the school, Fyik Konicaı, has once again shown the frightening reality with which girls in Kosovo grow up.
It even suggests that sexual abuse of girls at school is an urgent matter for all to deal with.
The last case that happened at the school, Fajik Konicaı, has once again shown the frightening reality with which girls in Kosovo grow up. And this reality, where the threat of sexual abuse is ongoing, comes precisely because of social and institutional failure to treat violence against girls and women as a serious problem and public safety concern”.
The institutionalized patriarchism is jeopardizing the right to healthy education and growth in schools. Since our institutions have repeatedly failed to produce real policies that would seriously treat the sexual violence girls are subject to, not knowing at all the presence of this phenomenon and the need to deal with it. On the other hand, we are deeply concerned with media reporting these cases and consider that part of the problem is also media itself and their scandalous reporting. The media are becoming a serious obstacle to fighting these phenomena, addressing gender-based violence issues as news of relevant means by which they earn the most, violating all human and journalistic principles”.
“Statement of the identity of victims and children involved in such cases as this one was, is foolproof, for which we require penalties from responsible authorities. We know very well that the media cases made within school gargae are not isolated cases, but phenomena that are on a frightening scale present in all of our private and public environments”.
“Aide and how such should be treated. Our system and all institutions, ranging from family to public institutions, are producing molesters and sexual abusers. This is being done through patriarchal education, stratification of the diet of inequality, and neglect of acute issues such as sexual violence against girls and women. Sexual abuse of girls at school is an urgent matter that all of us have to deal with. However, the Ministry of Education must mostly be taken over. This phenomenon should be fought at several levels and included many sides, ranging from a awareness of the family, schools, media and society that should be made only by the state”.
She also presented their requests and they were: Getting sex education into schools; Safe environments for students/or employment and social workers and psychologists in all schools.
So we want to turn our attention to the ministry today and let you know once again that this institutional neglect should come to an end and that the lives of the girls' safety in schools are at risk and thus should be addressed through real and fair gender policies. So our requests are clear: 1. Getting sex education into schools; 2. Safe environments for students/it; 3. Employment of social workers and psychologists in all schools. We will not stop until these three requirements are met. Until girls and women live free now any violence and control, wherever they are”.
While Kosovo police have reacted after publishing a video at several portals, allegedly a case of sexual abuse among students in the courtyard of a school in the capital has occurred.
