In address at the Summit of the region's presidents in Brdo-Brejun, President Vjosa Osmani, speaking of the EU's perspective and neighbourly relations in the region, has stressed that it cannot be passed on the following chapters before the previous chapters are read and fully understood.
President Osmani has stressed that it is necessary to accept the truth about what happened in the region.
When we talk about what actually happened to the victims, the survivors, those who disappeared from the wars. And most importantly, when we talk about why the authors of these disgusting crimes committed by the Milosevic regime are not behind bars. Beyond my duty as president of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, it is my moral and human duty to speak the truth about what happened in our country”.
“Crimes committed by the Milosevic regime to call them by their real name: War crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. And, most importantly, it is to ask our northern neighbour, Serbia, to bring to justice the perpetrators of these terrible crimes against innocent civilians”, the president Osmani has suggested.
According to Osmani, instead of responsibility there is the historic denial and revisionism of what happened during the 1990s in the region,
The responsible and courageous Lidership “requires the determined refusal to such a dirty act”.
