Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has hosted a meeting of her Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor. Pahor is visiting our country after publishing “no-paper” in his Slovenian state last month. After the meeting they had Osman and Pahor were declared before the media.
I was honored to see Slovenia's president, his excellence today. Pahor in the Republic of Kosovo. As the country's great friend, it's the first time you've visited us and it's the first time you've expressed support for our new Republic. This time it was a working visit to make the necessary preparations for the Brdobrini process, marking the 10th anniversary of this process on May 17th, where I will represent Kosovo. We discussed the topics expected to be addressed there, with emphasis the need for regional co-operation, as well as the need for speeding up the European integration of our entire region. I assured them that the Republic of Kosovo has a priority for European integration, because it is the will of our people and the reforms that should be undertaken as part of this process we don't see them as empsing because they are good for citizens and dealing with rule of law, with better education and health. E It is about the peace our people have contributed to. We clearly stressed that Kosovo has met the criteria for visa liberalisation, even double them, and is on a long note where our citizens are unfortunately being kept closed as different from others who have benefited from this” process, Osmani said.
The president also stressed that granting visa liberalisation would be a good initiative because it would freeze EU credibility within Kosovo and beyond.
“As far as the pandemic is concerned, I announced to the Slovenian president that we still need vaccines, and I hope that Slovenia will help Kosovo in a symbolic way, as a confirmation of strong friendship as well as our people “the good friend is found in difficult days” and Slovenia has been able to do so, and I hope to do so even in the face of pandemic. We expect Slovenia to continue with economic and trade co-operation, as well as in the field of defence, education and culture. Slovenia as a partner in the EU but also of the region has supported any process that pushes Kosovo ahead of”, she added.
Finally, President Osmani stressed that Kosovo's borders are once and for all defined on February 17, 2008.
