May 12th is International Nurse Day. On this day, heartfelt congratulations on all nurses / infermies, who during this period of confronting the David-19 pandemic, are not only hopes but also those with the greatest work load. In the face of an anticonvid challenge, nurses are the most valuable asset in our health system. Their weight and importance should be repaid by dignifiedly treating their daily commitment.
On this day, I particularly want to honour the contribution of many nurses throughout Kosovo who are soon to reach retirement age and who have exercised this profession for over 40 years. Among them was my mother, who from 18 years of age to over 4 decades of contribution, never lost her will and zeal to serve patients. She and many other nurses had started working on non-skillable time of the patriarchate's dominance, were violently dismissed during the Milosevic regime, but had continued the contribution even during the 1990s through the parallel health system “below Therese”. Finally, they did not stop at any moment in the face of pandemic.
We're proud of your work. We'll need you even when the pandemic passes. That's why we want heroes to have you today, but tomorrow we have more in the face of health!
