This narcotic substance is suspected to have come from Brazil in packets of meat products.
In this case, Besnik Berisha, the lawyer of one of the two suspected persons who were arrested today, has been declared.
Berisha said his client is completely innocent and even the victim of this case, since he says he has not even been aware that in the package of meat products ordered by Brazil, there could be something other than meat, much less narcotics.
My client is a victim. We hope that soon the trap made to him by still unknown persons will become white. He is an honest, responsible businessman, one of the most serious businesspeople Kosovo has in importing meat products. The drug that has been found in his business spaces is allegedly a prepared trap, either by competition, or by criminals who ordered it and are still at large, because drugs have not ended at the final target of”, Berisha told the signal.
The lawyer hopes everything will be enlightened and that those behind this order will be identified and brought to justice.
My “I and my client hope that once we are in touch with Brazil authorities, with the meat order sender respectively, it will be clarified correctly who are the potential persons involved in buying and transporting these substances. Hopefully many that investigators will manage to clear up important new details in order time -- the roads that have been following the shipments, the authorities who have accompanied it, because this request has not come and has not been accompanied and unknown to justice institutions”, he said.
Berisha said security institutions and the prosecution are aware and recognize the fact that his client and his client's business are “obsolutely the victim of this trafficking”, but says there is work and a long way to find out who is behind this shipment, which in the black market would reach the value of about 20m euros.
