Latif: At The Hague a major game is playing, Croatia's most serious state to provide guarantees

Professor Blerim Latifi has spoken of the possibility of being tried in freedom for former KLA soldiers being held at The Hague. Latifi thinks the most serious state to offer the guarantee is Croatia. And for that he has given reasons. A visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs [...] has been warned on Thursday in Kosovo.

On Thursday in Kosovo a visit by Croatia's Foreign Affairs Minister has been warned. Latifi says this unprecedented visit concerns the issue of guarantees for former KLA leaders.

The most serious state in this direction seems to be Croatia. It is evident that there is a huge mood that has been aided by Kosovo, to help Kosovo in the trial case of former KLA leaders”, he stressed.

This insistence should not be viewed as just some kind of moral solidarity with Kosovo. I consider Croatia's state institutions to be viewed from a broader perspective. At The Hague Tribunal is playing a game far bigger than what we think than what we see from close local or party prospects. It's the game for war truth in Yugoslavia”, Latifi says in Pressing.

I think Croats are very interested in not allowing the Serbian version or interpretation of the wars in Yugoslavia to move forward. But preserve the only truth about the wars in Yugoslavia that resulted from Serbian aggression”, Latifi said.
