A major step of Kosovo towards membership in the European Union is seeing Miroslav Lajcak feasible.
Emisari for dialogue says that with the reach of the agreement with Serbia, Kosovo gets candidate status for EU accession.
“No doubt about Kosovo's success in dialogue means becoming a candidate country and whatever comes with this. Kosovo has seen a number of concrete results since the start of the dialogue. He was mentioning regional co-operation where Kosovo introduces itself. Then tax collection, freedom of movement, integration of police and judiciary from the north. There are other examples”, Lajcak said during an online debate Tuesday.
Kosovo is almost the only country out of six to make up the Western Balkan region that has not received membership candidate status in the Union. The Republic has major deadlocks in the process of European integration. Even visa liberalisation that all other countries enjoy, Brussels cannot offer Pristina
