Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu and Chief Parliamentary Glauk Konjufca have been addressed with a joint letter U n NESTO.
Kurti has shown that through this letter she has been explained U n NESTO's actions in protecting cultural heritage.
On the other hand, through this letter, Kosovo leaders have demanded that the four monuments of Kosovo listed on the World Heritage List of U NESCO (Decan Manastir, Pec Patriarchate, Gracanica Monastery and the Church of St. Premtes in Prizren) to leave the “category at risk since security circumstances in Kosovo have completely changed from the distant 2006 year when these monuments have been assessed as endangered.
The complete post of Albin Kurti:
Today is May 21st, World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, proclaimed by the U General Assembly NESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization).
Taking advantage of this day's importance, we're heading towards him today U n NESTO through a letter we signed with Mrs. President. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu and Mr. Speaker of the Parliament. Glauk Konjufca.
In our letter we have explained the actions of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for the protection of cultural heritage and promoting the cultural rights of all communities living in our country.
Also, on behalf of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo we have articulated some concrete requirements.
First, we have requested that the four monuments of Kosovo that are listed on the World Heritage List of U. NESCO (Decan Manastir, Pec Patriarchate, Gracanica Monastery and the Church of St. Premtes in Prizren) to leave the “category at risk since security circumstances in Kosovo have completely changed from the distant 2006 year when these monuments have been assessed as endangered.
Second, we've invited them to review the outdated terminology, since in U's reports and documents. NESTO is also mentioned as “Kosovo Autonomous Provinca” (now Republic of Kosovo) and “The Interim Institutions of Self-government in Pristina” (now State Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo).
Thirdly, we have urged the launch of the process for changing the state side responsible for these four monuments, removing Serbia and placing Kosovo in this responsibility. Although on the World Heritage List the state side for four monuments in question is Serbia, it has no real or legal control over them, and therefore it cannot meet its obligations U n NESTO. U officials NESTO we have assured that, as yet, in the future we will be committed to protecting, promoting and developing all Orthodox churches and monasteries in Kosovo.
Fourth, on behalf of the institutions we represent, we have guaranteed that Kosovo is fully ready for membership in U. NESTO, a copyright denied a few years ago. We say that the inability to participate in 2015 in the absence of a very small number of votes should not be turned into a long-term penalisation for Kosovo. We are willing to become part of U's big family NESTO to bring added value to humanity through our cultural wealth and to become part of the joint efforts for lasting peace in the world. We believe in the universality of cultural heritage, and as such in its shared potential.
