During a speech honouring U.S. Day, Mr. Biden said that “I will meet with President Putin in Geneva and will make it clear that we will not tolerate his violation of these rights. ”
The White House said on Friday it would continue with plans for the meeting between the two leaders after Microsoft identified a cyber attack on US government agencies by Nobelium, the group that infiltrated last year's SolarWind company system that came from Russia.
The June 16th meeting comes amid strained relations about the intervention of the American elections Moscow denies, cyber attacks and Ukraine.
