Serbia's Liberal Party leader Cedomir Jovanovic says Russian agents have tried to drug his daughter. Jovanovic says he's taking death threats every day.
In the summer of 2019, Jana was in a shopping mall with a friend. They were sitting in Mack where the three males were getting close to them. They took her away, they threw some dust into her drink, forced her to drink it. This event was seen by a person who was close to them and had asked if everything was okay and then one of the three hit him and knocked him down. A friend of mine called my wife and she called the police. When police arrived at the scene, all three people showed their Russian diplomatic passports, where then someone from the Russian Embassy came to get them”, Jovanovic claims.
Due to continued threats, he says he was given close protection, since in February 2001 someone had placed a bomb in his car.
He claims that three years later, at the first session of the government of Vojislav Kostunica, a decision was made to annul its defence, but only seven days later the decision was revised because the police assessment was that it is endangered.
Jovanovic, his wife and son, then the only child, received close protection, and the police placed themselves in front of the building in which they lived.
