This comes right at the time of the terrible conflict that is taking place in Israel and Gaza between Jews and Palestinians, writes Periscope.

The famous daily reported that approval was made on May 5th, prior to the loss of the situation in Gaza. However, the decision was taken at the time when there was much criticism for the planned expulsion of Palestinians from a neighbourhood in East Jerusalem and raids at the Al-Aqsa mosque.

The Reuters agency reported that Congress was informed in April of the planned sale of these weapons, as part of an informal revision process, prior to the official announcement on May 5th. Under American law, the official announcement opens the 15-day deadline within which Congress could file complaints, but this is not expected to happen despite continued violence between Israelis and Palestinians.

The decision to give the green light to sell weapons to Israel has prompted objections from some members of the Democratic Party, part of which the American president is. That decision was rejected by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who demanded that the sale of weapons not happen.

If this process continues, it will be seen as a green light for the continuation of the transition and will harm efforts to achieve a” truce, the American congresswoman said.

According to the Health Ministry in Palestine, at least 212 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israeli attacks on Gaza last week. Among the victims are 61 children. On the other hand, 10 people of Palestinian missiles have been killed in Israel so far.
