The requirements and criteria stemming from the process of integration into the European Union for our country in the sense of standards that must be met and met will be dealt with with with with the necessary seriousness and dedication.

So Prime Minister Albin Kurti said at the first meeting of the European Integration Ministerial Council.

At the meeting, which Prime Minister Kurti led, stressed that our state aspirations to be a state developed with stable economies and democratic country ruling law and justice, European Union standards must be guides.

We should view the European integration agenda as an integral part of the government and state agenda. We should not view the process of European integration from distance to goal, as the task that the EU has assigned us, which we must achieve so that at the end we can be rewarded, rather, we should see it as an opportunity that we have to reform, develop and achieve our democratic, economic and welfare. The ownership of reforms required lies with us, and we must act in line with the responsibilities we have taken. Fulfilling many criteria and standards depends on our will and dedication to perform them. Our government has this will and commitment, and we will work hard to materialize it”, Kurti stressed.

The chief of executives also said the European integration agenda should be embedded in the work plans of each institution and officials in our institutions. Kurti asked those responsible to read the country's reports compiled by the European Commission in the areas of responsibility and address the findings.

One of the direct benefits of being in the process of integration into the European Union is also the scan and reflection of work done by the EU in each area and every year. This actually makes our work very easier, but also my job, because it's easier for me to look at progress and to seek responsibility from each of you where there are failures and delays. Thus, responsibility will be sought by the ministers for concrete reforms that should be guided and implemented, but also by all public officials in accordance with each of the mandate and responsibility of each”, he said.

Co-ordination of this process is set to the responsibility of First Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislim, who said three pillars on which the European Reform Agency is based RA II is the same as those of priority government Kurti 2 in the campaign and at the beginning of the ruling mandate.

Bislimin has mentioned that the first priority is to rule the law on fighting crime and corruption, then public administration reform, protection of fundamental citizens' freedoms, electoral reform and the economy.

“The first pillar that is a priority of commitment to us is rule of law or good governance, and within this pillar we have four priorities, fighting organised crime and corruption, further reform of public administration, protecting fundamental freedoms of citizens, and the fourth pillar connecting with further advancement of democratism that refers to necessary reforms in the election process or advancing the electoral process. Prior to the Kurti Government, along with the rule and law, maximum priority has the economy or employment, and this is reflected in the second column of priorities of ERA II, or the agenda of European reforms”, Bislim stressed.

Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi has mentioned other priorities, to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises, growth and economics, environmental protection, public finance reforms.

Also, its priority remains to strengthen the mechanism for fair competition in the economy, combating informality, and economic recovery caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
