Report TV reports that it's about an operation conducted with the co-ordination of the American DEA, which had information about the origin of the cargo in question, which they put GPS on to see where it was going.
Cocaine was hiding in a chicken truck, and the container left South America, stopped in Gioia Tairo in Italy and then stopped in Durres. Upon reaching the container in Durres, Albanian police have ascertained drugs, but have not intervened, allowing procedures to be carried out to find out what its final destination would be.
After conducting the procedures, authorities have followed the truck with the container above, which is headed for Kosovo. At this point, Kosovo police have also been reported and police have crossed the border, making the sequencing of large quantities of drugs in Lipjan.
Cocaine was placed in 20 crates, where chickens had been removed and drugs put in their place. The involved are allegedly a considerable number of people, but so far 2 are in the status of detainees for transporting narcotics. The value of this amount seized is approximately 8m euros. The truck driver said he didn't know he had any drugs in it.
Along with the DEA, Italian sides are involved in the operation, such as the country where the container made transit to Albania, the Albanian side, as well as the Kosovo police, after it was discovered which would be the final destination of the drug-filled container. Albanian police had been waiting for two months for the huge burden of cocaine, and while this happened at the port of Durres, two more shipments of other narcotics.
Albanian and Kosovo police are soon expected to hold a conference on the operation, where 400kg of cocaine were seized to provide further details.
