Hungary goes against 26 EU states, blocks Gaza ceasefire declaration

The European Union's foreign ministers failed Tuesday to come up with a joint declaration that would require immediate ceasefire between Israel and Palestine. The only state that went against this statement was Hungary, while 26 other member states were for. “Priorites is the immediate halting of all violence [...]
“Priorit is the immediate end of all violence and the implementation of a ceasefire, not only to achieve implementation of the” ceasefire, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said during a press conference after the extraordinary meeting of top diplomats.
He said the European Union wanted to come up with a conclusion after the conference, clarifying the common position about the conflict, but only one state of the 27 EU member states rejected the text of the declaration.
The European Union's top diplomat later confirmed that it was Hungary that blocked the release of the joint declaration, writes Anadolu, broadcast newspaper Express.
He said all other member states called for immediate ceasefire with the aim of protecting civilians and of offering full access to humanitarian aid to Gaza.
“Israel and Palestine require a real political solution, because only a real political solution could bring peace. The increase in violence in recent days has led to large numbers of consequences in civilians, death and injuries and in the unacceptable number of children among victims”, Borrell stressed.
Otherwise, fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants is continuing on Wednesday. Israel is bombarding Gaza through air strikes, while Palestinians are throwing ground-air missiles into Israel's territory.
