Haziri for dialogue: We'll try to put political resentment aside

The first deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lutfi Haziri, says the LDK will address demands concerning issues in the country's interest, such as the topic of dialogue with Serbia, regardless of whether they come from power. However, he stresses that they have yet to accept any invitation for a meeting by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

In an interview for Kosovo Preress, Haziri reminds Kurt that in the time he was in the opposition, he has not collaborated with any government in terms of dialogue. He says of issues such as dialogue needs unity and formulas that can unite major political parties in Kosovo at the table must be found.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has warned days ago that he will invite leaders of political parties in Kosovo to discuss Kosovo-Serbia dialogue before it resumes in June.

Number two in the LDK, Lutfi Haziri says this party has not yet discussed this, since they have not yet accepted any invitation for the meeting.

“The LDK has not yet discussed because we haven't had any kind of invitation so far. We with the government Kurti have made clear our position that we will be opposition, and our opposition stance is clear as crystal in this direction. We will continue to address the demands that will come from the prime minister to look closely, but any who are needed after that the incumbent prime minister today has not co-operated with any government in the past for the process of dialogue and involvement in a eventual consensus. We will try, and I believe we will have to try to put aside political resentments, to be rational, in national interests, united and faced with a process that will not be easy, which is the duty of the government primarily”, Haziri says.

Haziri says the LDK as an opposition has witnessed constructiveity, even voting Vetevendosje candidate for president, former associate Vjosa Osmani.

Haziri says he has done so without any demands or political conditioning.

We will treat carefully, not prejudge invitations or processes, we will be careful to handle all issues that are in the country's interest. In our example and we don't just declaration, we've practiced it in electing the president of the Republic after no demands and without any political condition. We very much hope that constitutional duties will be implemented by the carriers of state institutions, but the LDK will be Guardian of the Republic. February 17th of 2008 and the rebirth of this republic made us mandatory to close open issues and the only open issue in the region is that with Serbia and Kosovo's integration with international institutions, which include those Europeans and the UN as the highest institution. So far it takes unity and the formula has to be found and the man who can unite political forces, the great political majority, even the minorities though not, because Kosovo is all”, Haziri says.

The LDK deputy chairman says the political format of dialogue in Brussels should be equal and eliminate hidden agendas by becoming clear whether it needs to negotiate something.

The Constitutional Court does not give anyone a role but the prime minister, the prime minister cannot delegate this task, nor his deputy prime minister, nor the ministers' group, in matters of daily work, of assessments and analysis and bags, but of sitting down on the table with the political format that is being prepared in Brussels we should be willing to face the same, in an equal political form, in a white policy agenda which eliminates hidden agendas, with exactly what and the issues that are involved and which are to be negotiated and that are to be negotiated, because Kosovo has long established and has long established, when it comes to an end.

Haziri has also talked about Kurt's refusal to meet with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq on May 11th in Brussels, and the sharing of 11m euros for energy in the north.

“The policy of dialogue for 11 May and the payment of 11m euros is contradictory, I don't want to meet on 11 May, but the agenda is pushing in for payment to 11m euros, these two 11s don't comply in the agenda, but I believe very much that anyone who has agreed on a new deadline to back up, and Kosovo if it holds a new meeting on June 18th, then to earn the 18m euros of energy debt Serbia has in Kosovo under the energy treaty. Enormity in the political fingernails of this government and the payment of 11m euros is the solution to a major problem in Kosovo that has occurred for ten years, because this has been on the agenda of every government”, Haziri says.

LDK deputy chairman estimates dialogue is the only way Kosovo should see in resolving the problem with Serbia
