Government: Skender Hyseni is not and will not be part of Kosovo negotiating team

Kosovo Government spokesman Progress Kryeziu has told Express that former National Co-ordinator for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Skender Hyseni has been invited to a meeting only to report on the dialogue process in which he has been working for nine months on government past.

As Deputy Arber Rexhaj has stated, Mr. Hyseni has been invited, not to be part of the dialogue, but to discuss progress and developments in the dialogue process over the time he was state co-ordinator for dialogue with Serbia. Hyseni has responded to these statements. He said he did not accept such an invitation from the government and that if he did, Hyseni said he would not accept it.

He further stated that for him dialogue is Kosovo's number one priority, while Kurti is not.

I'm not part of the team and I haven't even accepted an invitation. Moreover, even if there was such an invitation, my answer is cut. No! I'm not, and I don't want to be part of any team, because I don't believe Mr. Kurti is aware that a final agreement with Serbia with final mutual recognition as independent states is today priority number ONE of our country. By maintaining the integrity and unitary constitutional character, Kosovo needs an agreement for urgent recognition”, he has said.

Meanwhile, MP Arber Rexaj in a televised debate has confirmed that Kurti is calling for personality consultations that have been involved in dialogue with Serbia.

“Z . Kurt every day is calling to himself advisers, well-known political names, even those we disagree with because it's no longer a matter of disagreement in the sense of what we have different. So we have full names, for example. Skender Hysen has invited Mr. Besnik Bislimi, that is. is mentioning the name that we mostly had disagreements with him because he had different, political attitudes on the issue of dialogue. Of course I call him and he has accepted the invitation, Kosovo is all of us and we have to act institutionally. He had, an official task at the time, he should give us information and of course should respond to the institution, of the Republic of Kosovo”, he had declared Rexaj.

Otherwise, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said he will have a meeting with opposition leaders to discuss a dialogue platform with Serbia.

Kurti said the agreements reached so far by the preliminary governments will also be considered.

We will make a sort of scan for the agreements reached by the past. Based on the documents, it turns out that we have between 15 and 53 agreements”, Kurti claimed.
