Government Kurti removes local election law change from legislative plan

The Kosovo government has removed it from this year's legislative plan to complete the change for local elections, which it originally planned to make. All this was done after reactions were not made as the country will undergo the local election process this autumn. KDI says the possibility [...] should be seen
The Local Election Law was planned by the government to be completed and changed as 126 in the legislative agenda published at the outset. But a few days after this planning, it doesn't figure in the final publication on the official government page since the same has been removed from the legislative agenda for this year.
It was the Association of Kosovo municipalities that urged Prime Minister and Minister of Local Power that changes not take place now when Kosovo will have local election processes in a few months.
By 2007, municipalities have had no chairman, but only the mayor of the municipal states, chief executive chief with the same competencies that today have 38 mayors.
Eugen Cakoli from KDI says changing the law on local elections should be done in detail.
According to him, voting should be seen in the mayor's bloc and vice president and thus avoid extraordinary elections in a municipality where the mayor resigns.
In autumn the local election process is expected to be held, the second following the early process for elections at the country level. /rtk
