Locked down has called the possible issue for border change in the Balkans Jorn Rohde, Germany's ambassador to Kosovo. According to him, ethnic-based border proposals are the mentality of the past century and that they are dangerous.
On the Descu show, Rohde, commenting on recent non-papers, on the proposal for border changes in the region, and another on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, has said the document, which spoke of border changes, has been cast for a clear purpose.
For me one thing is clear: sensitivity exists, so it's been discussed so much, but politically everyone has refused changes in borders. This case for us is closed”, he declared.
He has refused to comment on Kosovo- Serbia, saying it has been exposed on time and that “is not worth discussing about something which is currently on table”.
Rohde has also refused to speak about the statute of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and the northern issue, saying all that can be discussed belongs to the two sides in the dialogue. However, he has said firmly that Germany sees full normalisation between Kosovo and Serbia with mutual recognition.
“We want success, because success is a prerequisite for the further travel to the EU. As my minister said, full normalisation for us means that ultimately mutual recognition should be part of the final solution”, he has said.
