France avenges Britain: We're gonna cut power.

France will retaliate by cutting off the power supply of Jersey, Channel Island's largest island, said the country's Marine Affairs Minister after Great Britain set new conditions for the fishing agreement for entry into its waters. “These access conditions are one-sided and without [...]
These access conditions are one-sided and without explanation. Such a thing, is completely unacceptable “, Annick Girard said in parliament.
Great Britain recently announced that there were new requirements for fishing in the waters around Jersey Island. He published a list of 41 fishing boats equipped with Ship Monitoring Systems (VMS) that would be authorized to enter these waters on May 1st.
“We are with fishermen hanging from entering the United Kingdom waters. Our neighbours impose criteria that do not belong to the agreement reached after Brex. The law is the law, conventions must be respected. We'll make sure that the agreement signed at the end of 2020 applies”, Girard wrote on Twitter.
Channel Island's power supply depends on France's underwater cable network.
The minister expressed regret that it had to reach this point, but what we have in our hands we are willing to use, she said.
France has been maintaining good ties with Jersey for more than 150 years.
According to French lawmaker Bertrand Sorre, local fishermen so far had the opportunity to fish for an average of 40 days in the waters of this island, but with new British regulations, they are reduced to only 11 days.
