The authorisation is expected to be granted next week, a federal government source told CNN. Pfizer has requested authorisation for the urgent use of her vaccine on children and teenagers aged 12 to 15.
The FDA will change authorisation for emergency use of the vaccine, but the process will be direct, official sources told CNN. The Barments and Food Administration is currently looking at data presented by Pfizer in support of use.
Pfizer said that in late March, clinical trials involving 2260 people aged 12 to 15, showed a 100% efficiency. Currently, the vaccine is authorized for emergency use in people from 16 years of age and above.
