The first vaccines, which the EU provided with Austria's mediation, as reported in Vienna, 1,170 doses Bio NTech-Pfiser will be delivered to Serbia today.
After Serbia, 2,340 doses of vaccine will be separated from Montenegro, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina 10,530, Kosovo, Albania and Northern Macedonia from 4,680 doses.
By August, as reported earlier in Vienna, a total of 651,000 doses of vaccines from the EU collective procurement will be delivered to Western Balkan countries.
BiH will receive the largest number of 214,000, followed by Albania with 145,000, Northern Macedonia 119.000, Kosovo 95,000, Montenegro 42,000 and Serbia 36,000.
The co-ordination co-ordination of donated vaccines in the Balkans was made by Austria.
On this issue, Austrian diplomacy head Alexander Schalenberg will travel to Sarajevo on Tuesday, along with European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhley.
With the donation of vaccines, the EU, as explained, wants to show the region that it has not been abandoned in the fight against coronary.
There's no one safe before everybody's safe. We don't have any of that if we vaccinate anyone who wants it fast in Austria, without a vaccine in our nearby neighborhood,” said Schalenberg.
Austria, on EU orders, bought vaccines for the Western Balkans and the money will be returned from Brussels.
