The country's Prime Minister Albin Kurti's plan to increase the number of psychologists and teachers in schools is seeing it as necessary, Ismet Pottera from the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute.
Potter in an interview for Online Economics said completing schools with a psycho-pedagic staff is very necessary, though it does not solve all problems.
“School processing with this professional staff or psycho-pedatrical service is very necessary but does not solve problems, because even before in schools where they have two cadres have other problems. So it would be a huge help for teachers because they'll have professional support, while it doesn't solve the problem in general, but it's better that a segment at least be fixed rather than that it doesn't fix at all”.
He points out that it would be a very good step and a contribution to those psychologists and professors who have graduated from the field and do other jobs.
The “would be a very welcome solution for those professors and psychologists who have conducted schools and today or work other jobs and are not working for what they are prepared for and it would be a very good step, even though since 2016 an administrative plan for completing this service in schools has been designed, but in a way it is left to municipalities that, if they have a budget to realise, but if the government shares a particular budget, it would be relief for municipalities. And it's not only because today the school needs sociologist, he needs a full service doctor who's almost impossible with this budget we have”.
The next education expert, and once the Executive Director at “Edutask”, White Qirezi sees as necessary in supporting students.
This is necessary and the way this initiative or intervention will be implemented is very important. The first job psychologists are needed because they support not only students but also teachers, the role of psychologists at schools in many countries primarily concentrates on supporting students to achieve academic success, but also supporting them with behavior, mental health and emotional aspects that they may have”, Crees said.
She says it's the shooting initiative, though expensive, but that if viewed in the long-term plan, it can bring positive effects.
I suggested that instead of just employing psychologists, without any plan we should make a plan about what they're going to do in school, how they're going to support students, but also teachers, but on the other hand, preventing them from marketing and abandoning schools, or other specific aspects that might have a community. It's a shooting initiative, normal costing, but if it focuses on the welfare of students, teachers and families will help our society”, she stressed.
