He further said that if Kosovo offers an investment package and a legal security then it would attract serious investors.
This year we don't expect economic downturn to occur because the trend is that there will be economic growth, unless any new closures occur that I am very skeptical that it could happen, but how much economic growth will not fully depend on the private sector. The private sector has a dynamism this year, especially the production sector, exports are marking growth that is a sound economic growth”, Panja said during an interview for Online Economics.
“Facebook and imports are also marking great growth, but cannot stop trade. But all of this will be compensated for how active Government is in implementing the investment plan for 2021. We should be more active in attracting foreign investment. Kosovo has potential problems with supply from China and remote Asian countries so many European companies are viewing the Balkans as potential opportunities to invest. If Kosovo offers an investment package and a legal security to invest in Kosovo then I believe it will attract serious investors”, Panja added.
According to him, to return to normality in Kosovo's economy takes two years, even though expectations take place in 2022.
“takes at least two years to return in 2019. Most of the forecasts made by the international monetary fund and the World Bank mean that the pandemic has brought us back two years. We expect to return to normal at the end of 2022. This could happen sooner if we had a dynamism in Government”.
The government is more dynamic in implementing its policies than this helps the private sector. There is demand for Kosovo products from the EU and America. We should have an adequate legal framework to have law enforcement, and the only way this can attract foreign investment because this too will increase the economy faster”.
