According to People, the couple did not have a pre-marital agreement, and it has been found that they have entered a partition agreement which defines the rules of how they would handle finances.
In the divorce requirement submitted, Melinda stated that “the husband's support is not necessary” but that the double marriage is “irreversibly”.
“We ask the court to resolve our marriage and find out that our marriage community ended up on the date set in our split contract”, reads statements from Melinda.
In terms of their finances, a temporary automatic order is presented establishing financial restrictions that will limit its and Bill's ability to access property or make changes to security policies other than as agreed on in writing or as commanded by the court.
Bill and Melinda will also be responsible for their future debts, except as agreed in writing. The two will have access to all tax, financial, legal and family records.
The couple married in 1994 and have three grown children: the boy Rory, and the girls Phoebe and Jennifer,
