Daut Haradinaj remembers fellow fighter Agim Selmanaj

He said that in times and difficult circumstances, Agim Ali Selmanaj was born and that he was only two years old when Serbia arrested his father and the entire family of dozens of village men.

Haradinaj said that suffering and hard life only prepared Agim morally and nationally, he said Agim was among the first to witness his military skills, the frontal struggle began and that he was very successfully leading the battle and reshuffled police units. Brigade 131.

“In time and difficult circumstances arose and Agim Ali Selmanaj grew. Agim was only two years old when Serbia arrested his father and the entire family; Nazmiun, Rasim, Besimi, and Fari, as he arrested dozens of village men at the top of Basa Smajl. Suffering and hard life only prepared Agim morally and nationally. The year 1997 found him ready as well as many other boys on that side. When the frontal war began, Agim was among the first to witness unprecedented fighting skills. Accompanied by Luan Nimanaj, Agim was almost in every battle. The many wounds that struck him only strengthened him! The beginning of 1999 was a difficult year for us, and our greatest burden was naturally upon the strong boys. Dawn was successfully leading battles, reorganizing police units Brigade 131, and he was also doing his best to help the many wounded at the time.  The numerous defeats of fellow fighters, Agim, would turn them into force and counterattack to Serb forces. Dozens of shares against the Serbian Army have his name, reaching that degree that Agim, The Source, Florim and other friends were scaring the enemy inside them! ”

He said that the day of May 1st was the day he lost his right arm of his youth and the war they were making and that he still has fresh farewell moments for the unremitting Dawn of the war.

The murder of Xhazen, Hashim, The Lion and Fatmir was one of the most severe blows for many warriors, and so was Agim, who would not sit back! For a full of 15 days, his elite unit had entered the enemy force, causing countless human and war technician damage.  It came to that degree that Serb forces were defecting en masse due to the horror caused by Brigade fighters 131 Yusuf Gervala. The day of May 1 was also the day when I lost the right arm of my youth and the war we were fighting. For 15 years together, in school, in demonstrations, in stocks, and in war, without a moment being divided! Even today, my moments of farewell are fresh for the never-ending dawn of war. Under those very easy circumstances, I gathered warriors before his body on the hill Maznik, to follow the rare warrior, Agim Selmanaj. Along with Besim Selmanaj, his uncle who led the brigade formations, we continued that piece of roads until Serbia surrendered. Today Dawn and his friends rest in peace Witness complex Dukagjin, as evidence of our bloody journey to come to freedom!”, Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
