The report came a day after US President Joe Biden has asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do so.
President Joe Biden had become increasingly impatient with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after an open phone call Wednesday in which the US president set a deadline to ease the violence between Israel and Hamas.
The call, in which Biden made it clear that he was expecting a ceasefire soon, was at “directly, frankly” that any of their previous conversations since the president took office, according to a senior administration official. And Biden who has a relationship with Netanyah since decades ago did not hold back, the official added, writes CNN.
It was the two leaders' fourth telephone call in a week as violence intensified between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza. The White House has used a progressive language more urgent to describe each conversation, even when officials described a more focused diplomatic effort in background pressure than in public.
Beden, who is viewed as a staunch supporter of Israel for his entire political career, has been under pressure from members of his party to speak more strongly against Israel's actions.
