Currently, people over 55 could be vaccinated in this EU country, as well as younger chronic patients, while records for those between 50 and 54 years of age begin Wednesday.
The Czech Republic, with a population of 10.7 million, recently passed the threshold of one million people fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 2.17 million took first dose.
In the Czech Republic, there are about 660,000 people in the group between 50 and 54 years of age. If the vaccine goes according to plan, the age limit could drop by five years each week, the CTK news agency reported, citing Babish.
The number of new cases continues to decline. According to data from Saturday, last week the number of new cases per 100,000 people dropped to 137. A total of 29.343 people died as a result of COVID-19.
