Presenting a brief conference on journalists at the White House after the ceasefire announcement, the US government chief also promised he would reinforce the Israeli defence system “Iron Cup”, despite complaints within the Democratic Party about the arms sale the US is expected to offer Israel.
Beden said that the United States will work through the United Nations and other international organisations to provide rapid humanitarian aid and to organise international support for the people of Gaza and for reconstruction efforts in this enclave.
He insisted that the reconstruction aid will be provided through co-operation with the Palestinian Authority, rather than Hamas, which the United States calls a terrorist organisation, Reuters writes, broadcast the Express.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said that State Secretary Antony Blinken will travel to the region in the coming days to meet Israeli, Palestinian and regional officials to discuss efforts for recovery and to work together for a better future for the Israelis and Palestinians.
