The doses will come from the existing US producer of Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine reserves.
“We know that America will never be fully safe until the pandemic that is globally under control,” said Biden at the White House, the AP reports.
The announcement comes on the previous engagement of the Biden administration to share about 60 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is not yet authorised for US use until the end of June.
The United States has repeatedly faced pressure to separate more of its vaccine reserves from the world after the interest in vaccines has waned in the country.
