Former politician Azem Vlasi has said that, as he had stated several years earlier, he is willing to be included in the dialogue team with Serbia.
He has declared that if invited by the Kurti Government, he would make his contribution to this process, adding that he well knows the history of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
I'd still go and anyone who can contribute something and if they're invited to help, it's mandatory to respond. When the dialogue started, I offered to be close because I knew the history of reports between Kosovo and Serbia excellent. The names mentioned a few days ago, and anyone who may contribute to that government and the prime minister must have it close to”.
Vlasi, in the special edition in Klan Kosova, has said dialogue with Serbia must continue and that Kosovo politics should find unity on this issue.
“Dialogue, however, must continue and the Kosovo side must have consensus and unity, because differences in essential issues do not exist until disputes and minor resentments should be put aside. It is not necessary on our part, by Prime Minister [Albin Kurti] to say we have priority dialogue, because dialogue is one of the priority issues, especially in foreign policy. We are in a better position, because from the major Western states nobody is asking us to give up our citizenship or compromise on the question of citizenship. The world has many other problems and cannot deal with us and Serbia indefinitely. There must be a full co-operation between position and opposition, because this is a matter of the state's interest”.
The former politician has stated that it is not good for any government coming to claim that nothing has been done in the negotiation process with Serbia, until he has added that the Kosovo side should not put the issue of citizenship, borders and internal constitutional structure on the table of dialogue.
It's not good that every government that comes to us is often changed, it shouldn't act like it's starting from the beginning and there's nothing there so far. How many years we deal with the matter of dialogue and some red lines and some principles have been defined. The main principle is that we in the dialogue are going as the state of Kosovo with the state of Serbia, not Pristina and Belgrade, as stated by the Serbian side. It should be clearly stated for which there is no citizenship dialogue of Kosovo, territory and borders, and for Kosovo's domestic constitutional structure that is unitar state. None of the Westerners in Brussels, and the US, not that they are, are insisting that we make concessions on these issues. One of the most painful and priority issues is the issue of the dead. For some topics in the final agreement, there are some more deadlines to be determined, and what is the most important is that the final agreement must be concluded with mutual recognition ) which repeats Americans, the main states of the European Union”.
“Synnim of the Kosovo side in Brussels should be remembered Aleksandar Vuciki, who repeatedly repeats the phrase for a compromise solution. Dialogue in Brussels has been forwarded by the Security Council as a dialogue for normalising relations, and not as the Serbian side expresses the solution to the Kosovo issue, because this issue has been resolved and Kosovo is a state. We are going into dialogue only as dialogue for normalisation of relations, because the Kosovo status issue is carried out with the assessment of the International Court of Justice”.
