The initial measures for preventing the spread of the disease are:
• The movement of birds from farms, the maintenance of fairs, markets, exhibitions, and other bird and bird gatherings is forbidden.
• To raise the level of biosecurity on farms, to prevent the spread of the disease (prevention of contact between wild birds and domestic birds, to set foot in the entrance and exit of farms, to stop the entry of unauthorized persons, food, equipment and fertilizer, not to be in contact with the farms affected with this disease.
• Control the movement of birds within the surveillance zone by implementing disinfection measures;
The measures that will apply to the protection zone:
• Identification of all bird property within the area;
• Periodic visits of all the bird property, clinical examination of those birds, including the taking of samples, if necessary for laboratory examinations,
• Using the right tools for disinfectation in the introduction and exit of property;
• No transportation of birds without approval by competent authority;
• They will oversee all measures that are imposed according to administrative guidelines for protected areas.
We as authorities are taking all necessary actions under Administrative Guide No.24/2005 To combat zoonotic bird disease. Through the Directorate of Health and Animal Management, together with official veterinarians and field veterinarians in cooperation with farmers and birds, we will work for better management of the situation to prevent the spread of this disease to birds. We lure all citizens and farmers into creating no panic. The situation is and will be kept in check through co-operation and respect of the established measures.
