PDK youth headship member Jona Arifi at a media conference has reacted to recent events in educational institutions and frequent reports of physical violence, harassment and sexual assaults, globalisation and stigmatisation against students.
Arifi has stressed that the youth of the Democratic Party of Kosovo voice deep concern over this situation, which has taken alarming proportions for each family in Kosovo and requires urgent action by institutions responsible for handling all cases of harassment and student violence.
It has pressed charges against three governments that have been changed during the pandemic period that have done nothing to provide students with adequate instruction, which will result in a lost school year and long - term consequences.
The lack of adequate environments for students and the presentation of such cases affect not only the quality of education but also the development and social welfare of students. The need for qualified psychologists at any Kosovo school is urgent and we seek from the government to take immediate measures to implement this requirement, which primarily comes from students and their parents. The youth of the Democratic Party of Kosovo calls for pro-active approaches, for school management policies that create safe and unrecognitional friendly environments for all students.”, Arifi has said.
